I bought Harry Potter’s last adventure about an hour and a half ago. I am 130 pages in and may not make it to bed tonight. I just gotta know what happens next!
In other news, I spent the weekend in Victoria with
, SMT, and
at Jeanine and Adam’s wedding. The wedding and reception were as I expected them to be. Jeanine looked fabulous in her dress and Adam forgot to hold his smile on his face a few times before Jeanine walked down the aisle, and his “holy shit I’m getting married!” look showed through. The four of us had quite a few giggles on Friday night in our hotel room, sharing a bottle of vodka and some laughs and secrets. Love those people. So. Much.
I checked the time as we were heading back into town and figured that people would be in recovery mode from
‘s bash last night and
pointed out that the party had probably just ended! It was 3pm. Hope it was lots of fun, Yvonne – too bad about the weather but hopefully everyone climbed into the hot tub regardless. Pictures, please.
My buddy Simon got a black Labradoodle puppy, whom he has named Farley, and when I was about to leave my parents’ this evening (I went to beg for dinner) he drove by and stopped to show my parents the pup. He is sooo cute, and as soon as I get the battery charged on my camera I will post a picture or two.
Speaking of pictures, I am going to treat myself to a good camera, and I want to buy it this week. Does anyone have any particular brands or models that they do or do not recommend? I am leaning heavily towards Canon because I saw the gorgeous pictures that the Powershot can take while in Budapest, but I’m open to other suggestions. I don’t want to spend more than $500, tax included.
It still feels a little strange to be back in Vancouver but the reception that I have got from my friends whom I have managed to meet up with has made me realize how much I am loved by people here, and that combined with my love for my city confirms for me that I really do live in the best place on earth. I’ll still go gallivanting off every so often because I love to travel, but Vancouver is my home and I have yet to find another place that I would want to give that title to. In not so many words, I’m glad to be home.
