Virtual music
December 6, 2007erin 1 Comment »I downloaded some music tonight.
What made it different from all the other music I have downloaded in the past, you ask?
I paid for it, on iTunes.
I stopped being comfortable with “file sharing” software on my computer awhile ago and uninstalled it, so I haven’t had any new music in quite some time. But there is this amazing song at work on our digital player that I had to have, so I finally bit the bullet and paid for music online. It was quick and easy and cheap – and best of all, there’s no physical packaging so from a green perspective, it’s great.
The artist is A Fine Frenzy and I bought the whole album, but the song I really wanted is Almost Lover. I know that my music taste is probably a far cry from others, and I’d appreciate it if you don’t like the music to just click on, rather than feeling like you have to comment on how much you don’t like the song or whatever. Everyone is different – I get sick of people trying to put others down for their taste in music. Ok, rant out of nowhere – and I’m done. *grin*

You know, I’ve always been willing to pay for downloadable music. The catch? I refuse to pay for DRM music. Which means 99% of iTunes library is out.
So I was ever so happy to hear that Amazon mp3 is completely DRM-free and lovely and good and high quality and woo! Except…
not available in Canada.
Mother. Fucker.
So I pirate.
