Thin Fat People
January 2, 2008erin 2 Comments »Being thin doesn’t automatically mean that you aren’t fat.
The article is an improvement on how fat is being thought about, but of course they have to throw in that “most experts believe that being of normal weight is an indicator of good health, and that BMI is a reliable measurement” even though they also state that “experts have long known that fat, active people can be healthier than their skinny, inactive counterparts.”
Now maybe it’s just me, but those two quotes seem to contradict. One can be active and therefore healthy, but fat and with a high BMI and therefore unhealthy – riiiight. So close. It’s like they see it but they are afraid to admit it – someone who is fat or even *gasp* obese can actually be healthier than someone who is thin! But if they admit that, then what happens to the fat epidemic?
