Project 365

One of the items on my 101 list is to complete Project 365. I have been quietly taking one picture a day and posting them in my Flickr account, in a set called, of all original things: Project 365. I’m only 6 days in but it’s been fun so far. I just joined a group dedicated to this subject on Flickr and found a really neat idea there. Last year, there was a weekly challenge with a theme. I have put the themes under a cut here so that I can easily refer back to them, as it will be a starting place for inspiration as I get further into the project.

Cool idea! And what better way to make use of your new camera!! It’ll be really neat to look back on those pictures and remember the moment that made you stop and want to capture what made it so special.

I am going to do Project 365 too, but not until July 13, 2008. I am going to document my 35th year of existence. This list will make that fun and interesting. Especially since I was hoping to have new shoes for my birthday, and that’s week one. Though now that I read it… week 22 would be difficult as that will be shortly after New Years… almost to Groundhog Day.

Lori, you could always change that one week to reflect something that was more … accurate. Are you really turning 35 this year? I feel so young … :P

Jeanie – exactly. I hope that is how it turns out.

That’s funny, I signed up for something similar this year. One of the websites I frequent has a Flickr group and we post a photo a day to the group. There are weekly themes, but they’re optional.

One of the things I love about the project is the little glimpses I’m getting into other peoples’ lives. These are people I’ve chatted to about various things, but it’s really cool to see shots of their day-to-day existence.

The day-to-day thing is something I’m struggling with. I feel like every shot should *mean* something, rather than just reflect an aspect of my life, in whatever way that is. And I’m sure when I look back on my pictures in a few years, the regular everyday ones will mean more than the (attempted) artsy ones.
