and so it goes

I am taking my laptop to Geek Squad tonight on my way to Purple Dragon. Although not having the internet at home is not the end of the world, it has the effect of making me feel absolutely cut off from my friends. Of course, part of that is me being anti-social – I don’t want to actually have to talk to people so I don’t want to call anyone. I just want to keep up with the news of everyone’s life and share all the trivial bits of my own.

For example, last night I was watching “The Hour” with George Stroumboulopoulos and I may have a new crush. I’ll have to watch him a few more times to really make up my mind.

I have started hiring for my new store and I’m starting to get a little excited about the whole thing. Mostly because I am looking forward to having a space where everything runs by my rules. 😉

I bought new bed linen and it is absolutely fabulous. When I can finally upload my pictures to Flickr I’ll post a pic of it, but that won’t begin to show the luxury comfort. Last night was my first night sleeping in it and I had to haul myself out of bed this morning with the promise that the only reason I’m getting up now is so that I can use the computer at school before class starts. Do you see the sacrifices I am willing to make for this blog?

Oh, and I cut my hair. I may post a picture of it, but now that I’m past the initial happiness of having a different hair cut, I’m irritated by it. I can’t put it all up into a ponytail and so I have to wash and blow dry it every day, and I’m so low maintenance that that starts to piss me off almost immediately. Still, I needed a change, and I got that. Now it’s just about growing it out so that it doesn’t get in my way when I go to Trinidad. I have six months so that won’t be a problem.

And last but not least of the trivia that I choose to share, I torqued (I have no idea if that is the correct spelling) my knee at kickboxing last night and now walking is slightly uncomfortable.

Hmm no I have one more thing to add. I am using a Mac in the school computer lab and I really like it. Maybe what I should do is get my laptop fixed, sell it in its reformatted state, and buy a Macbook. Of course, that really would be a luxury purchase since there is nothing wrong with my laptop (once it is fixed, that is).

Okay. Now I’m off to class. Hopefully Geek Squad can fix me up and the next time I update will be from the comfort of my couch. Keep your fingers crossed.

Yay for luxurious bed linens. Does this mean your sleeping problems are less problematic now?

I can’t wait to see your haircut – are you going to come for dinner with us on Thursday? I think people have ok’d The Savoury Coast Restaurant. I realllllly want you to come!!!!!

As for the mac thing, I’ve never known anything else, so I cannot preach for you to convert because I really don’t know anything about PCs. I’m so sick of the whole Mac vs PC debate anyways. The only thing I will say is that I don’t have to de-fragment, and I don’t have to worry about Viruses. EVER. which means I can open any email msgs and I feel safe accessing my online banking (which has had major issues with hackers lately for those who use PCs).

I hope the geek squad is adequately geeky for you!

    LOVE your roomie.
