Adoption
April 13, 2008Erin 1 Comment »I’ve adopted the Calgary Flames as my team for the playoffs. I always root for the Canadian teams but Jarome Iginla is looking to take over the top spot of favourite NHL player if it’s true that Trevor is going to retire. Therefore, Canadian team + Iginla = my playoff team.
They call it the ‘Sea of Red’. I don’t know how they got everyone on board to buy the red jersey but it’s amazing to watch a home game in Calgary. Everyone is in red. They are a great crowd.
Unfortunately the Sharks just scored, only two minutes in, but there’s lots of time left. Go Flames Go!
Edit: Sharks just scored again. Oh, and then again. 3-0. What the fuck just happened? Calgary just fell apart in the first five minutes. Do they have enough heart, and enough talent, to come back and battle for this game?
Edit #2: 4-3 Flames , 2 minutes left in the third period, with the Flames killing a huge penalty. Talent? Yes. Heart? Absolutely. What a game. What a comeback. What a win.

Iggy played for the junior team that I worked with in Kamloops, he is a very genuine and a hard working team player. He and Trevor I beleive are similar in character. Team players and good all round people!
That and he has a killer grin, mind you I knew him when he was a teenager so making that statement makes me feel like a dirty old woman!!
