lol! I just read an article about the Bush administration barring funding for embryonic stem cell research for eight years. Last year, a way of deriving an entire stem cell line from a single embryonic cell without destroying the embryo was discovered. And now, stem cells are being combined with gene and immune therapies, compounding the pace of progress (Discover Magazine, Nov 2009). Thank God, the political climate is changing and research is in fast-forward now!
